What Can We Do To Improve Our Brains Function

What If You Used 100% Of Your Brain At The Same Time?

It isnât just older people encountering cognitive decline who should be working to improve their brains, Rebecca says.

âOlder people get the most focus, but thinking skills are important for everyone,â she says. âThe opportunity to improve the health of our brain is there for all of us at any stage of our life, and the earlier in life you start, the better the effects.â

Hereâs what we can all do to optimise the health and function of our brain.

Understanding How The Brain Works

Before knowing about How to use 100% of your brain, we tell you all these things in detail once. Just like you use a computer and it has a processor and RAM. Now if you are asked what you have to store all types of data inside your computer and process them. If we talk about the collection of those data then it will be very much. But the parts inside the CPU will work in every data process. And your data will be processed.

Your brain is a CPU. And the data you are storing inside, which means what you are learning is the capabilities of your brain. You can store unlimited data. This learning ability is said to be that a human being uses only 10 percent of his brain. This does not mean that a person uses 10 percent of his brain part. This is a big Confusion. While you also know that your CPU is 100 percent used in processing data.

Now lets know how to use 100% of our brains?

How To Use 100% Of Your Brain

Recently, I saw the movie Lucy starring Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman. If youre planning on watching it and dont want me to spoil it for you, then skip the next paragraph.

The general story is that a college student studying abroad gets abducted by a gang in Taipei and is forced to carry a bag of drugs that they implant in her abdomen. When the bag starts leaking its contents, CPH4 , the drug triggers rampant production of new connections between neurons giving Lucy access to the 90 percent of her brain that supposedly most of us never use.

The explosive brain growth makes her superhuman, and levitation, time travel, mind reading, learning Chinese in an instant, mentally controlling electronics, altering and generating new body parts, as well as high-speed car chases, and fight-to-the-death scenes follow.

Lucy is based on a lie

The director, Luc Besson, knew the idea that we only use 10% of our brainpower was wrong but went with it anyway. Hey, it IS science fiction. I get it, but the problem is that too many people accept this brain myth as a fact. According to a TED-Ed Animation, two-thirds of the public and nearly half of all science teachers still mistakenly believe this nonsense.

What Does It Mean To Use Only 10% Of Your Brain

What percentage of our brain do we use?

What data were used to come up with the number – 10%? Does this mean that you would be just fine if 90% of your brain was removed? If the average human brain weighs 1,400 grams and 90% of it was removed, that would leave 140 grams of brain tissue. That’s about the size of a sheep’s brain. It is well known that damage to a relatively small area of the brain, such as that caused by a stroke, may cause devastating disabilities. Certain neurological disorders, such as Parkinson’s Disease, also affect only specific areas of the brain. The damage caused by these conditions is far less than damage to 90% of the brain.

Does Alcohol Really Kill Your Brain Cells

Theres no question that alcohol affects the brain in negative ways. It can impair brain function even in the short term. In the longer term, it can lead to serious brain damage. It doesnt actually kill brain cells, though.

Long-term heavy drinking can cause shrinking of the brain and result in deficiencies in white matter. This can lead to:

  • slurred speech
  • family history of substance abuse

Alcoholics are prone to developing a brain disorder called Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome. Symptoms include:

  • mental confusion
  • paralysis of nerves that control eye movement
  • muscle coordination problems and difficulty walking
  • chronic learning and memory problems

Drinking during pregnancy can affect your babys developing brain, a condition known as fetal alcohol syndrome. Children with fetal alcohol syndrome tend to have smaller brain volume . They can also have fewer brain cells or normally functioning neurons. This can cause long-term behavioral and learning problems.

Alcohol may interfere with the brains ability to grow new brain cells, which is another reason this myth may persist.

Why is it so easy to believe these myths about the brain? Theres a grain of truth running through some of them. Others seep into our own brains through repetition, and we fail to question their validity.

If you previously bought into some of these brain myths, take heart. You werent alone.

Do You Know How Heavy The Human Head Is

Scientists have been researching for decades to vouch for the percentage of brains, we humans are really able to use. The origin of this myth that humans are only able to use 10% of their brains took from some prevalent theories from the 19th century. And since then it has become a hot topic for some of the science fiction without any scientific credibility. This myth took speed with a common belief that percentage of the brain used by the great scientist Albert Einstein was 13% which is just 3% more utilization than the normal human. He did many amazing scientific discoveries and people thought that if we were able to use 100% of our brains than that would bring wonders to this world.

Is It Possible For A Human Brain To Defeat Supercomputers

When it comes to technology no one can ignore one of the most important invention, computers. For decades computer scientists have strived to build machines that can calculate faster than the human brain and store more information, however, they were able to pose no match to the human brain. In the last decade though in this race between the human brain capacity vs computers the latter was able to mark a win. The worlds most powerful supercomputer, the K from Fujitsu, computes four times faster and holds 10 times as much data as the human brain. The humans brain capacity is around 3.5 quadrillion bytes while this supercomputer was able to store around 30 quadrillion bytes.

Well learning these facts we all are able to relate that how powerful the human mind is. So we should always try and improve brain health by solving brain teaser questions or maintaining proper health. This way we all will also be able to think of new constructive ways to do goods to the society and help and make this world a better place to live in.

Meditation For Increasing Brain Power

What If We Used the Full Capacity of Our Brains?

Friends, do you know how important it is to meditate? When you meditate, you focus on one thing. Meditation increases the concentration of human beings. And if a person can concentrate for a long time, it means that he can learn things very quickly. Because of increased concentration, you can increase the capacity of your mind at rest. You also know that concentration helps us to do things better.

To understand it well, try taking it on yourself. Many times when you sit reading, suddenly a lot of non-essential thoughts start coming in your mind. And you know very well that these thoughts also affect you a lot. They dont even let you read. The arrival of such thoughts proves that you have a problem with concentration.

To increase your concentration and use 100% of your brain, try to wake up daily and meditate. At first, it will be quite difficult but after that, you can increase the time of meditation daily. 4 Just like you spent 10 minutes meditating first, on the second day you can increase the time to 20 minutes. Friends, I have seen many people who cannot sit for anywhere for an hour, meditation is far away. Such people are very less able to awaken their brain abilities.

Why Some Humans Smarter Than Others

The next question that rapidly creeps our mind is that, if we all humans use the same amount of brain then how are some of them smarter than the remaining. This question raised the eyebrows of many scientists and soon an explanation was provided, smartness is related to cognitive plasticity which refers to the adaptive changes in patterns of cognition related to brain activity. The study of Einsteins brain proved that it contained the same number of neurons when compared to an average human beings brain. However, it did contain more astrocytes which also acts as a link between two neural cells. Now it is on the diversity of the neurons it contains that provides a reason for why some people are smarter.

How To Use 100% Of Your Brain Can It Happen

Friends, we want to tell you that a human cannot use 100% of his mind. Friends, there is a reason behind this. Yes, if you try, you can use your brains abilities to the maximum. But even after that, you cannot use your mind 100%.

So friends, because a human being has many things to learn that have no limits. While we are bound by a lot of boundaries. For this reason, we cannot use 100 percent of our brains even if we want to.

Your brain has limited learning capabilities. Will you ever learn unlimited abilities? No, you cannot learn unlimited abilities. And if you learn the known abilities then how will you be able to learn the unknown abilities.

Friends, we do not say that you should not try to increaseyour brains abilities. But you should make full use of the abilities of yourmind. Your mind should learn what it wants.

They Looked At Mris Just To Be Sure

Unfortunately, just because you truly use more than 10 percent of your brain, does not mean you’re going to begin developing telekinesis.

Scientists have measured how much brainpower people use when doing certain activities. Healthline noted researchers look at brain activity through a magnetic resonance imaging . They ask people inside an MRI to look at photos or do certain exercises, and they study which parts of the brain light up when performing those functions. There’s even an episode of MythBusters where they tested the 10 percent myth. The MythBusters team asked people to accomplish complicated mental tasks word associations, memory drills, calculations and found that people use at least 35 percent of their brains to perform those activities.

What scientists can generally agree on is that we don’t yet fully understand the full brain. Scientific American said researchers continue to study the different parts of the brain to figure out the function of each. Generally, we know about neurons, but what about the glial cells that support neurons? What are their function? Nor do scientists know where consciousness comes from. We know that people use far more than 10 percent of their full brain capacity, but scientists are also still trying to understand more about how the brain works and what its full potential can be. In the meantime sorry. You really can’t make yourself read minds.

The Battle In Your Brain

What percentage of your brain do you use?

Its true that increased connectivity between neurons is associated with greater ability. Studies have shown that musicians, who play stringed instruments, have larger areas of their brains dedicated to their active hands. Brain scans of London taxi drivers have revealed that the more years a driver has on the job correlates to a larger portion of their brain being recruited to store spatial information.

These findings demonstrate Hebbs law: neurons that fire together wire together and neuroplasticity, the ability of the brain to change its physical structure and function based on repeated experience, behavior, and thoughts. In the blog, The Battle In Your Brain, I write:

Every minute of every day theres a battle going on in your brain a battle for cortical real estate. Your experiences, behaviours, emotions, and even your thoughts are constantly, literally changing and shaping your brain.

You have a use or lose it brain. Any unused connections go dormant to free up resources needed to strengthen those connections that are most often used. Neuroplasticity is competitive, and functioning areas of the brain not receiving any stimuli will be quickly taken over. In experiments where participants were blindfolded, their visual cortices started reorganizing themselves to process sound in just two days!

Brain Basics: The Life And Death Of A Neuron

Request free mailed brochure Introduction The Architecture of the Neuron Birth Migration Differentiation Death Hope Through Research

When a stem cell divides to produce an early progenitor cell, it is said to differentiate. Differentiation means that the new cell is more specialized in form and function. An early progenitor cell does not have the potential of a stem cell to make many different types of cells. It can only make cells in its particular lineage.

In 1962, scientist Joseph Altman challenged this belief when he saw evidence of neurogenesis in a region of the adult rat brain called the hippocampus. He later reported that newborn neurons migrated from their birthplace in the hippocampus to other parts of the brain. In 1979, another scientist, Michael Kaplan, confirmed Altmans findings in the rat brain, and in 1983 he found neural precursor cells in the forebrain of an adult monkey.

Your Brain Is An Energy Hog

Your brain is incredibly hungry and requires a huge amount of energy just to keep running. The human adult brain makes up about only 2% of the bodys mass yet uses 20% of energy intake. In children, the brain eats up 50% of daily glucose intake, and infants brains take a whopping 60%.

Brain sizes scale in proportion to body size with larger animals having larger brains, but on a per weight basis, humans pack in more neurons than any other species. This density is what makes us so smart. It takes an awful lot of fuel to power that complex brain, and theres a trade-off between body size and a sustainable number of neurons. According to theTed-Ed Animation,A 25-kilogram ape has to eat 8 hours a day to uphold a brain with 53 billion neurons.

The invention of cooking food gave humans the means to power their growing brains because our guts could more easily absorb energy from cooked food.

Our brains also adapted by learning to become incredibly energy efficient. At any one time, only a small proportion of brain cells are signaling, a process known as sparse coding, allowing the brain to use the least amount of energy while transferring the most information. The need to conserve energy resources is the reason that most brain processes happen below conscious awareness and that multitasking just doesnt work. Theres not enough energy available to the brain to focus on more than one thing at a time.

What Is Mean By Using 100% Of Your Brain

A human being uses every part of his brain. If any part of the human brain is damaged, then some problem starts inside some work. Friends we mean how to use 100% of your brain?. It is not inside the article that you are not using all parts of your brain. And scientists have only been able to prove that a human being uses 100 percent of all parts of his brain. Here we are talking about those abilities, not the parts of the brain. Talking about the skills that your brain can learn. Cant your mind learn a lot? How many things do you know? If you compare things learned and your learning abilities, it will be very low.

In the 1890s, Harvard psychologists William James and BorisSidis first reported that a normal human being can only use 10 percent of hisbrains abilities and this is true. The same thing was said by American authorLovell Thomas. Then in the 1970s, Bulgarian-born psychologist and teacherGeorgi Lozanov said that humans use only 5 percent of their brain capacity.

This means that we should not be confused about the capacity of the brain and the use of the brain part. And you can know that the capacity of the brain is a psychological word and the use of the brain part is a biological word.

Play Brain Games To Use 100% Of Your Brain

How much of Human Brain do we actually use? How to use 100 percent of your brain

Friends, playing brain games develop the ability to solve problems inside your brain. Nowadays, many types of brain games are available on the Internet. You can download and play inside your mobile. Like if you play puzzle games, then you will have to do brain exercises to solve many problems inside it. And when you have to use your mind, you will be able to develop your brains abilities.

If you choose to play a difficult game, then you willhave to do more brain exercises inside it, which will activate many parts ofyour brain.
