For example, if blood flow to the brain decreases, the brain immediately signals the heart to beat faster and more forcefully, and thus to pump more blood. If the sugar level in the blood becomes too low, the brain signals the adrenal glands to release epinephrine , which stimulates the liver to release stored sugar.

My overarching theme is against narrow thinking. If we want to solve our problems, we shouldnt reduce them to problems of the brain. Universal acceptable, age appropriate, multidimensional, multidisciplinary, and sensitive metrics or tools are required to comprehensively measure and monitor brain function and brain health.
Meanwhile, the mechanisms behind the brain dysfunction in some neurological disorders are still not well understood, especially for mental and neurodegenerative disorders. Further investigation of the mechanisms of brain diseases may indicate approaches to treatment and improve brain function. Brain imaging based cognitive neuroscience may unravel the underlying brain mechanism of cognitive dysfunction and provide an avenue to develop a biological framework for precision biomarkers of mood disorders.
Is Perception A Controlled Hallucination
A great mystery of the human brain is linked with consciousness and our perception of reality. The workings of consciousness have fascinated scientists and philosophers alike, and though we are slowly inching closer to an understanding of this phenomenon, much more still remains to be learned.
Anil Seth, a professor of cognitive and computational from the University of Sussex in the U.K., who specializes in the study of consciousness, has suggested that this intriguing process is based on a sort of controlled hallucination, which our brains generate to make sense of the world.
Perception figuring out whats there has to be a process of informed guesswork in which the brain combines these sensory signals with its prior expectations of beliefs about the way the world is to form the best guess of what caused those signals.

According to him, in delivering perceptions of things to our consciousness, our brains often make what you might call informed guesses, based on how it expects things to be.
This explains the uncanny effect of many optical illusions, including the now-notorious blue and black, or white and gold dress, when, depending on how we think the light in the picture is, we may see a different color combination.

What Happens In My Brain When I Am Learning
Your brain is primarily composed of about 85 billion neurons, which is more than the number of stars you can see with the naked eye in the night sky. A neuron is a cell which acts as a messenger, sending information in the form of nerve impulses to other neurons . For example, when you are writing, some neurons in your brain send the move fingers message to other neurons and this message then travels through the nerves all the way to your fingers.
